App Design

The goal for this project was to create a teens learning app, with total freedom as to the age groups targeted. My group and I decided to target 8 to 14 year olds who have a keen mind for outdoor survival and camping. (i.e Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts).

The aim for the app was to develop a game that kids could play and gain valuable information in the area of outdoor survival. This was a perfect opportunity to display required elements on the screen that any kid within the age group could comprehend, and to further enhance their knowledge of the outside world and nature.

Keep an eye on your vitals. Use the things you find and stay well rested for your journeys.

The game features multiple bars that determine your health, energy, hunger and thirst bar.

The days move at a quick pace and the score will depend on how quick you make it back.

When nightfall reaches, the screen will dim automatically to make it harder to see.

The game features an inventory that will make players think carefully how they organize their backpack.

The knife is a permanent item in the users inventory, and it is used to further craft from items in your inventory
